Jeff’s Book Review: “If Something Happens to Me” by Alex Finlay

This rousing, fast-paced thriller delivers exactly what Finlay promises.

Wow, Alex Finlay takes us on a wild ride with this one. Told from a lot of diverging/converging POVs, it’s engaging from page 1 and never lets you go.
You know there’s something to it when Ryan’s girlfriend is taken and never heard from again, but you’re not sure what. Finlay has set you up for a rousing tale and doesn’t disappoint as the layers peel away and what’s really going on starts to materialize.
Some characters are great – loved Poppy the deputy sheriff with all her doubts and insecurities. And some not quite as convincing – Shane O’Leary never really gave me the “Goodfellas” vibe.
But overall, a great way to spend a couple of nights by the fire with book in hand. Highly recommended.
